breathe into me

Dive deep
explore the sea
in swimming ecstasy
with final breath
I gasp for air.
See sun beyond sea surface
stretching, writhing,
stressing, reaching.
chains fall
around
and bound
me to ocean floor.
Strangle.
Water rips through lungs.
I feel
I need
the Life
of Air.
Surrender,
Embrace.
“Breathe into Me
My Saviour, Breathe”

“The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came over me;
I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
"Lord, save me!”  ~  Psalm 116:3-4
